Royon Samajik Sansthan along with Archaeological Survey of India conducted the Spiti Heritage Run in Tabo Village in Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh. The Run took place on 26th June 2016 at Tabo Monastery which is over 1000 years old. The Run was an attempt to highlight the cultural and importance of this Monastery. The average height of the Run Trail was 10,500 feet above Sea Level which made it a challenging Run for the Athletes due to the lower levels of oxygen in the Air.
Royon Samajik Sansthan in co-ordination with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is organising several runs across the country around heritage structures with an aim to bring to focus and popularise these heritage sites that remain unexplored.
The organization had been started with a motive to serve the society on various issues that have a bearing on it. We started with working on the road safety and did lot of activities including public awareness, educating school children, making pocket cards, volunteering traffic control, Seatbelt and Helmet awareness etc.
RUN TO BREATHE
India has a long history to boast of with influence and traces of several cultures spread across the land. The years gone by have provided us with monuments and structures to be very proud of and rightfully so. But while we are at it, did you know that there are so many beautiful monuments, the existence of which perhaps is unknown to most.
Run to Breathe is a series of walks and runs to create awareness about environment, the rich Eco-Heritage and importance of cleanliness in our society.
